Building Momentum: Exciting Changes Ahead for the ASCC Annual Safety Summit
Joe Whiteman, Director of Safety Services

Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s ASCC Annual Safety Summit! We were privileged to learn from a lineup of insightful speakers, beginning with Tricia Kagerer, CPCU, ARM, CSP, and John Goodrich, PE, who highlighted the importance of Leadership and Communication for Safety Excellence.  Paul Levin, JD, CSP, CRM, emphasized key approaches for Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention, while Dan Lester, MCA, spoke about Building Psychological Safety to Address Mental Health, additionally, our VitalCog Suicide Prevention for Construction Awareness workshops equipped attendees with vital skills to address mental health challenges on the job. This year’s Summit provided invaluable professional development and reinforced our shared commitment to safety leadership.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce some exciting changes for the ASCC Annual Safety Summit. As part of fulfilling the Safety & Risk Management Council’s (SRMC) strategic goals and leveraging partnerships with our Associate and Industry Members, the next Safety Summit will be hosted in spring 2026 on the premises of Milwaukee Tool! This unique venue will offer a chance for attendees to participate in factory tours of Milwaukee Tool’s manufacturing facilities, including their advanced tool and safety helmet production operations, during our pre-conference sessions. This behind-the-scenes experience will give ASCC members a rare glimpse into Milwaukee Tool’s operations and provide valuable insights into innovations that impact safety and efficiency. We’re excited for this opportunity to enhance engagement, create stronger connections, and elevate the Summit experience for everyone involved.

Though we’re pausing the in-person event for 2025, don’t worry—SRMC will maintain a focus on providing valuable safety resources and engagement. We plan to host a virtual half-day Safety Summit with guest speakers to keep momentum going, and you can expect more opportunities to attend VitalCog Suicide Awareness and Prevention for Construction sessions at our in-person ASCC events throughout the year. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you in spring 2026, where together, we’ll set the stage for a transformative year in safety and well-being!
