What's Going on at the DCC
Rich Cofoid, Council Director
The Decorative Concrete Council (DCC) is working hard with new initiatives and resources for the industry. Two new Best Practices Papers have been released, addressing critical topics: Creating Product Samples and Sealing Stamped Concrete, which provide guidance on ensuring high-quality finishes and protection for decorative concrete projects. The DCC Advisory Board also continues to work on the implementation of its strategic plan including the implementation of a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiative to attract new members.
Additionally, the DCC is gearing up for an exciting presence at the 2025 World of Concrete with a new and improved DCC/CPC Experience Booth. This booth will feature hands-on learning and demonstrations, along with the prestigious Decorative Concrete Hall of Fame Awards, which are now being administered by the ASCC. These are just a few of the highlights of the DCC’s commitment to elevating industry standards and supporting professionals in decorative concrete.
The new, improved and larger DCC/CPC Experience booth will feature an interactive area in the central part of South Hall where attendees can learn how to participate and prosper in these dynamic market segments. The Experience will also feature live and recorded short peer-to-peer presentations from industry experts on topics crafted to help new and experienced practitioners improve their businesses. Other planned highlights include:
A Historical Review of Decorative Concrete – including:
- A pictorial review of the evolution of decorative and polished concrete, the DCC and CPC.
- Special Awards presentation of the new 2024 Decorative Concrete Hall of Fame.
The 2024 Winners of the DCC Award program – including:
- A pictural review of the winning projects
- Meet the Winners sessions during which members of the project’s design team will explain how they solved the challenges encountered on the projects.
What’s New at the CPC:
- A description of the technical resources that ASCC, DCC, and CPC provide the industry (and, of course, the chance to join).
- Debunking polished and decorative concrete myths.
- A self-guided Decorative Concrete Hall of Fame Tour.
