First Place: Polished Overlays / Over 5000 SF

The owner chose to rehabilitate an existing warehouse for their corporate offices.  The largest challenge lay in polished concrete as an afterthought rather than part of the original plan.  The renovation included adding a large mezzanine as second story offices.  On the first floor, an aging slab, the owner chose a polishable overlay to ensure the flooring was uniform and not crisscrossed with repairs.  An open, exposed polished staircase transitioned between the first and second floors.  Additionally, the owner wanted the floor to appear as seamless as possible.  Through long hours and extended pours, the polished contractor was able to meet these demands.
