Self's Reclaimed Basement, Captivating Concrete

First Place: Cementitious Overlays, Under 5,000 SF

The client was struggling to find a contractor that could give her a basement floor that matched the rest of her house; most of which was reclaimed finishes. A giant ship's wheel is a chandelier and 100- year-old hardwood floors, hand hewn beams and galvanized metal create a look that only Father Time and Mother Nature could design. After discussion and several pictures the plan became a 3/8" overlay stamped in various sized reclaimed timber pattern. The overlay was poured using the control joints for start and stop points. Three days later coloring began and the result was exactly what the client wanted.
