First Place: Multiple Applications, Over 5,000 SF
The Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) School of Concrete and Construction Management project aimed to create a modern and functional facility while showcasing the possibilities of concrete as a building material. The 54,000 SF building features classrooms, labs, and offices, with an exterior that includes a mix of brick, storefront, and precast concrete panels to complement the surrounding campus architecture. The project team incorporated concrete in various forms and finishes, including cast-in-place, precast, and hollow core planks with integrally colored, board-formed, sandblasted, polished, and graphic concrete applications.
