Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness at Universal Beijing Resort, Universal Creative, Orlando, FL
First Place: Cementitious Overlays, Over 5,000 SF

As guests first arrive in the land, they step into the Village Marketplace and are welcomed by an elaborate concrete medallion defining the Chinese Zodiac.  This medallion was achieved as a combination of precast elements, cast-in-place colored concrete, concrete staining, and concrete engraving. At the outskirts of Marketplace is the Panda Village. This area features another concrete medallion, executed utilizing precast concrete mosaic chips that are wet set into a full depth concrete subbase.  This black and white concrete mosaic is the jewel of the surrounding paving surfaces; surfaces that consist of imprinted wood planks, textured dirt concrete, and imprinted grass. 

Across the waterway from the Marketplace is the Jade Palace Courtyard. The Palace itself towers high overhead on the mountaintop while the surface below displays an intricate flower that was hand engraved into the concrete surface. Here, the simple architecture of the marketplace gives away to the more formal and regal red-style buildings and the surrounding decorative and imprinted concrete surfaces. The floors of the Jade Palace are a combination of blue and green polished self-leveling concrete and a stampable overlay imprinted designed simulating large mountain stones.
